I am Pam Lloyd, a talent management and PR specialist

I have over thirty years’ experience in food and drink marketing. I started out in PR as press officer for Harrods’ foodhalls & restaurants, moved on to food PR agency roles and then founded PamLloyd Food and Drink PR in 2005 which I ran with my husband, Dieter, until 2024.

I have been managing talented food & drink people who work in social media alongside their day jobs for several years.

Happily, Dieter still helps me out in this new venture.

A few things I’m good at

I have been dedicated to food since I made my first sponge cake with a bucket load of green food colouring. I have developed some other skills since then.

Talking

I like to talk.  Talk it over, talk it out.  Social with a small s.  A chat is often the answer.

Knowing food people

I know a fair few chefs, restaurant owners, cooks, food writers, shop keepers, brand owners, brand managers and agency people. And I’m always happy to meet more.

Having ideas

I’ve worked in food marketing for my whole career, I’ve been in more brainstorms than I can possibly recall.  I’m a good thinker.

Asking questions   

I’m not afraid to ask.  If I don’t know something, chances are I do know someone who can help.  And I’m very happy to help in return.

Making a plan

I love a plan.  And a list.  And a diary.  There are few situations that aren’t improved with a plan.

Following a recipe

I can make dinner from whatever is in the fridge.  But I am delighted by recipe books and where they can take you in your own kitchen.  My family is exceptionally well fed.

Contracts and briefs

The area that most clients want help with.  Making sure contracts are fair and sensible and that briefs are deliverable by the content creator.

Invoicing and finance

Has to be done.  On time, efficiently and accurately.

Negotiation

Content creators need to be commercially viable.

Idea generation

No idea is a bad idea.  If it’s a bit weak to start with, chances are it’ll lead to a great idea.

Campaign planning

The goal is to devise a plan to benefit the brand, sit happily within the account of the content creator and create an association in the minds of their followers.

Management

Sometimes an extra pair of eyes and ears and a few decades of experience is helpful in a meeting. There are always questions to ask and new concepts to devise.
